Gaston Emlyn Avery was a wizard and one of Lord Voldemort's followers in the Second Wizarding War. He is the half-brother of the Death Eater Gaspar Avery and father of Bruno Avery.
He participated in the Battle of Hogwarts, and after the Death Eaters managed to break the protective enchantments protecting Hogwarts Castle, he blew up part of the battlements around The Quad, and Apparated into the catwalks by the Quad battlements. There, he killed a man and duelled with Arthur Weasley. Gaspar survived the battle, but was imprisoned in Azkaban for muggle torture and affiliation to the followers of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
